Photoshoot questions & Answers

When should I book?

As soon as your child shows interest in becoming a child model, they’ll need a profession portfolio in order to show potential agencies. You should book your child or teen model portfolio session as soon as you feel ready! Booking in advance ensures you secure your preferred date and time, especially if you have specific needs or if you’re looking to align with certain milestones like a birthday or a special event. For babies and toddlers, it’s often a good idea to schedule the session when they’re well-rested and in good spirits, typically in the morning after they’ve had a chance to settle into the day. For older children and teens, consider their school schedules and extracurricular activities to find a time that works best for everyone. Booking early also allows you plenty of time to plan and prepare for the session, ensuring you get the most out of your child or teen’s modelling or acting portfolio shoot. Additionally, if you’re aiming to have the photos ready for a specific purpose, such as updating their portfolio, look book, or social media profiles, booking in advance gives you ample time to review and select the perfect shots for showcasing their talent and versatility. So, don’t wait! Secure your spot today to create stunning photos that will truly showcase your child or teen’s potential in the modelling, acting, or performing arts world, right here in London, UK.

What should I bring?

To ensure a successful child model portfolio photoshoot, it’s important to come prepared with the right clothing options and grooming essentials. Here’s what you should consider bringing:

  1. Variety of Outfits: Bring a selection of outfits that range from casual to more formal attire, reflecting your child’s personality and style. Include a mix of colours, patterns, and textures to add visual interest to the photos.
  2. Layering Pieces: Bring items like cardigans, jackets, scarves, or vests for layering, which can add depth and dimension to your child’s outfits and create different looks.
  3. Accessories: Include accessories like hats, headbands, sunglasses, belts, or scarves to add personality and style to your child’s outfits, complementing their clothing choices.
  4. Shoes: Bring a few pairs of shoes to complete each outfit, including sneakers, boots, sandals, and dress shoes, ensuring they complement the overall look.
  5. Comfortable Clothing: Choose clothing made from soft, breathable fabrics that allow your child to move freely and comfortably during the shoot.
  6. Hair and Makeup Essentials: If applicable, bring along hair styling products, brushes, and accessories to touch up your child’s hair throughout the shoot. For teens, consider bringing makeup for subtle touch-ups to enhance their natural features.

By bringing these essentials, you’ll be well-prepared to create a variety of looks that showcase your child’s talent and versatility in the modelling, acting, or performing arts industry, right here in London, UK.

Can I give this photoshoot to my child as a gift?

Of course! I often photograph potential child models as their birthday gift from parents and relatives. It’s a really fun way to spend a birthday and celebrate turning a certain age. It can be especially exciting for those entering the teen years as they won’t have previously attended many events designed just for them or been treated as an adult in a professional setting before. I can send you a gift voucher to give them on their birthday that can be redeemed within the next year. Child model portfolio photoshoots are always fun and relaxed but if it is given as a birthday gift then I’ll make sure to make it especially fun with extra dress-up time and props. What better gift than that of a model career making portfolio?! Together we’ll make it their best birthday yet!

What if my toddler acts up on the day?

If your toddler misbehaves during their model portfolio photoshoot, don’t worry – it’s completely normal, and we’re prepared to handle it with patience and flexibility. Here’s how we’ll navigate any unexpected behavior:

  1. Patience and Understanding: Toddlers are full of energy and sometimes unpredictable, and that’s okay! We understand that they might need breaks, have tantrums, or simply not want to cooperate at times. We’ll approach the situation with patience, understanding, and a positive attitude, ensuring your child feels supported and encouraged throughout the shoot.

  2. Adaptability: I’m highly experienced in working with children of all ages, including toddlers. We’ll adapt our approach based on your child’s temperament and behavior, finding creative ways to engage them and capture genuine moments even if they’re feeling a bit shy or restless.

  3. Encouragement and Distraction: We’ll use positive reinforcement and gentle encouragement to help keep your toddler engaged and focused during the shoot. We might also use fun props, toys, or games to capture their attention and elicit natural smiles and expressions.

  4. Taking Breaks: If your toddler needs a break to rest, eat, or simply recharge, we’ll gladly accommodate that. Taking short breaks can help prevent meltdowns and ensure your child feels comfortable and relaxed throughout the session.

  5. Flexibility with Time: We understand that toddlers have their own schedules and rhythms, so we’re flexible with our time frame. If we need to extend the session or reschedule part of it to accommodate your child’s needs, we’ll do our best to make that happen.

  6. Capturing Authentic Moments: Sometimes, the most authentic and memorable photos come from unexpected moments. Even if your toddler’s behavior isn’t perfect, we’ll strive to capture genuine expressions and interactions that reflect their unique personality and charm.

Overall, our priority is to create a positive and enjoyable experience for you and your toddler, capturing beautiful photos that showcase their natural beauty and personality. With patience, understanding, and a bit of creativity, we’ll work together to ensure your child’s model portfolio photoshoot is a success, right here in London, UK.

What if my child or I are poorly on the day?

  1. Contact me: As soon as you realise that you or your child are unwell and unable to attend the photoshoot, please contact me as soon as possible. Please call or message me on 07930359345
  2. Reschedule: We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, including illness. Depending on our availability and our rescheduling policies, we’ll work with you to find a new date and time for the photoshoot that is convenient for both parties.
  3. Cancellation Policy: Payments are non-refundable but fully transferrable so, we’ll just move your lesson to another day or time. We strive to be understanding and accommodating in such situations, so don’t hesitate to reach out to discuss your options.
  4. Prioritise Recovery: Your health and well-being are our top priorities. Take the time you need to rest and recover before rescheduling the photoshoot. It’s important to ensure that you and your child are feeling well and able to fully participate in the session when the time comes.
