Photoshoot questions & Answers

When should I book?

For the best maternity photography results, consider reaching out following your 20-week scan. Optimal timing for a newborn photoshoot is around 28-34 weeks pregnant.

What if I'm not feeling well or strong enough?

You’ll definitely be feeling tired and quite possibly uncomfortable. You’re making a baby!
If you’re having an especially complicated pregnancy for any reason then let me know.
I strive to make my photoshoots as relaxing and comfortable as possible.
You can take as many breaks as you need.

What if I don't like certain poses or props?

Crafting your unique maternity photography session revolves entirely around you and your preferences, ensuring a tailored experience. Whether you possess specific preferences for poses or there are poses you’d rather avoid, kindly communicate them at your earliest convenience. Should you find yourself without a particular vision, rest assured, we can engage in a thoughtful discussion about colour palettes and more upon booking. Your session is a collaborative endeavor, and my goal is to align every detail with your desires and preferences, culminating in a personalized and exceptional experience for you and your family. Is it safe to pose them like this?

Absolutely, in the realm of newborn baby photography, the utmost priority rests upon the safety and comfort of your baby. This commitment forms the cornerstone of my approach. Diligently, I monitor their temperature, circulation, and overall ease throughout the session. Years of experience, combined with comprehensive training in handling newborns, underpin my expertise. The methods I employ mirror the natural positions your baby has been accustomed to within the confines of the mother’s womb for months. Rest assured, every action is meticulously executed to ensure your baby’s safety and comfort while capturing these fleeting moments

Who should I bring?

You may want your maternity photoshoot to just be about you looking incredible or you may want to include your entire family!  These photographs transcend the present moment, serving as cherished memories for years to come. Imagine your child growing curious about your appearance during your pregnancy. You’re very welcome to embrace the inclusion of your partner, parents, other children and even your pets!

What if my toddler acts up on the day?

Anticipating the energetic nature of toddlers, my unwavering patience and genuine fondness for them create a harmonious atmosphere during our sessions. Maternity photography brings its own unique delight. Children often enthusiastically participate in the portraits. Childrens swift comfort in the presence of myself and my camera is heartwarming. This ease ensures they embrace the environment, readily sharing precious moments with their family. If, like me, you have one or more slightly feral children, an outdoor photoshoot might be best so that they can run around. We can play games and make the photoshoot a joy instead of a chore.

What should I bring?

For maternity photoshoots, I provide a lot of outfits like dresses and bodysuits but you will likely want to wear one or two outfits of your own. Feel free to bring along any special items that hold significance for you and your family, such as some tiny newborn baby shoes that you may want to include in your images. Your unique touches contribute to the personal and heartfelt nature of the images we’ll create together during the session.

How do we book?

To secure your session slot, I’ll send a 50% invoice for your chosen maternity photography package. This is vital due to the fast pace of bookings. I’ll then send a second invoice requiring payment before the session’s commencement. These two payments cover the entire chosen package. Upgrading is an option at your gallery viewing meeting 1-2 weeks after your maternity photoshoot. Our gallery viewing encompasses not only image choices but also showcases wall art, frames, and other selections. All payments, including upgrades and products, occur through card transactions at this meeting.

Are you insured?

Certainly. My professional standing is fortified by comprehensive coverage through ‘Photoguard Insurance,’ assuring you of reliable protection. Certificates validating this insurance are accessible upon request upon booking maternity photography services. It is strongly advised to exercise caution and refrain from engaging with photographers lacking proper insurance coverage. The safeguarding of your experience, memories, and investment rests at the core of my practice. This commitment to professionalism and security underscores my dedication to providing you with a trustworthy and secure photographic experience for your precious newborn moments.

Are you Qualified?

Absolutely, my professional background boasts 4 years of accredited photography qualifications, further fortified by specialized training in posing techniques and safety protocols within the realm of maternity photography. This comprehensive education equips me with the expertise needed to artfully capture these precious moments while prioritizing your well-being and comfort. This commitment to both technical excellence and safety underscores my dedication to delivering a photography experience that is both skillful and secure, ensuring your treasured memories are impeccably preserved.

What areas do you cover?

While I’m based in Kidbrooke, Greenwich, I proudly extend my services for maternity photography across various areas in South East London, including Charlton, Woolwich, Eltham, Lewisham, Bexley, Welling, Bexleyheath, Dartford, Sidcup, Chislehurst, Orpington, Beckenham, Catford, Dulwich, Lee, Hither Green, Deptford, Mottingham, Canary Wharf, Newham, and the Isle of Dogs.
